Well-Baby Care Guide info

Hello dear friends here you will get Well-Baby care guide info. And you also get Babies Motion Sickness Treatments. Building confidence in caring for baby comes as the reward of successfully meeting your baby's needs. There is a lot to learn, a few basics to master, and instincts that you will learn to trust. The first few weeks with your newborn may seem frozen in time, like they have flown by, and as though you can't remember life before his arrival all at the same time.
This is a time of getting to know one another that will last a lifetime. Within a few weeks, your dedication to listening to your baby and your intuition will make you an expert about your baby. The goal in care giving is to keep your baby safe and comfortable, and to use each experience to develop a bond that comes from the process of spending time close to one another.
Health care services that are provided to a healthy newborn or child. Well baby care includes immunizations, vision tests, hearing tests, reflex tests and additional forms of evaluation that determine if the child is growing and developing at the expected rate. Well baby visits are important for children, especially those birth-3 years of age.

Ongoing health care for normal babies. The goal is to detect potential problems early and to give advice on prevention of accidents and illness. Your child's first well-baby exam will take place about 1 to 2 weeks after delivery. Additional visits and exams should also occur at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months. During the first exam, the doctor or nurse practitioner will ask about the baby's sleeping and eating; measure the weight, length, and head circumference; check vision and hearing; and perform a general physical exam.
The doctor will check the heart with a stethoscope, abdomen, hips, arms, feet, spine, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, throat, thyroid and lymph glands, soft spots on the baby's head, breathing and lung function, skin, genitalia, reflexes, and behavior. Immunizations are usually given at many of these routine visits.

Later visits may also include immunizations, discussions of normal childcare issues, and a brief physical exam. This is your chance to ask questions about your child's health and development. If you have concerns, they should be mentioned at this time. It is a good idea to take notes and ask questions so you can share what you learn with other family members.

What Do We Do during a Well-Baby Care Exam?
We start with a complete physical examination. We’re going to track your baby’s height and weight throughout his childhood. So, we take the first measurements during the first visit and then every visit thereafter. Then, we compare your baby’s measurements against other babies his age for signs of normal growth. We also:
  • Examine the eyes, mouth, and skin for signs of problems
  • Listen to your baby’s heart and lungs
  • Measure the size and growth of baby’s head
  • Watch for soft spots and flat spots on baby’s head
  • Check for fluid in the ears Screen for hearing and vision

Well-Baby Care Screenings
Your pediatrician is like a detective. Doctors use screenings to help them weed out hidden problems before they can harm your baby. Typical screenings during well-baby visits are for:
  • Development of movement, hearing, vision and other normal progress
  • Lead poisoning
  • Anemia if your doctor spots something, he or she will follow up.
Keeping your baby healthy
Your baby’s awfully cute! Now let’s make sure he’s healthy, too. If you don’t already have one, find a health care provider for your baby. This could be a pediatrician, a family physician or another kind of health care provider. Try to decide on and meet with a provider before your baby is born. Make sure you feel comfortable talking to him or her. Also make sure their office is in a place that you can get to easily.
During your baby’s first year, he’ll see her health care provider regularly for well baby visits. This is the medical care you get for your baby when he’s not sick. His checkups let the health care provider make sure your baby is growing and developing correctly. In the first year, your baby should get a checkup at:
  • 2 weeks
  • 1, 2, 4, 6 and 9 months
  • 1 year
Take your baby for these checkups even if he’s doing great and isn’t sick.

Your baby gets vaccinations (immunizations) as part of well baby care. Vaccinations protect your baby from serious childhood diseases, like polio, chickenpox, mumps and the flu. Your baby should get vaccinations and boosters regularly, all the way through age 18.
